British humanitarian worker permitted to return to the UK

The British charity worker Luisa Williams, who has advanced kidney cancer, was permitted to return to the UK for urgent life-saving cancer surgery in the UK.

On Monday Luisa, who had advanced kidney cancer, issued an urgent plea via social media begging Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid al-Maktoum to intervene after being banned from leaving Dubai for treatment.

An online campaign has been declared over the past week calling for removing her travel ban.

On Wednesday, her passport was returned after Emir of Dubai has intervened and ordered its release.
