Concerns raised over an Emirati academic's suspicious disappearance

The prominent human rights defender Ahmed Mansour on Monday raised concerns over the suspicious disappearance of the Emirati academic and political science professor Dr. Abdulkhaleq Abdullah.

In his official twitter account, the 2015 Martin Ennals Award Laureate Ahmed Mansour expressed his deep concern over the whereabouts of Dr. Abdulkhaleq Abdullah as he was dissapeared from twitter for more than a week.

Dr. Abdulkhaleq Abdulla (@Abdulkhaleq_UAE) disappearance from twitter on Monday the 16th is raising lots of questions. We hope he is fine, Mansour wrote.

The United Arab Emirates (UAE) authorities arbitrarily detained and in some cases forcibly disappeared people who criticized official policies, Human Rights Watch said  in its World Report 2016.
