Haftar's forces receive 3,000 tons of military support from UAE

A new report published by French Intelligence has revealed that in the past two weeks, the UAE sent around 3,000 tons of military equipment to its Libyan ally, retired general Khalifa Haftar. Haftar’s militia groups, collectively known as the Libyan National Army, launched an assault on Tripoli in April 2019 in an attempt to take control of the capital city.

The report explained that supply and transport operations were carried out by the “Antonov 124” plane, owned by Abu Dhabi’s Crown Prince Mohammed bin Zayed under the name of Maximus Air Cargo company.

The UAE has ignored and violated the UN-imposed arms embargo in Libya by continuing to provide Haftar’s groups with military support.
