Number of prisoners of conscience held beyond their release dates jumps to 35

The number of political prisoners held in UAE jails beyond their release dates reached an unprecedented number after four other prisoners completed their prison sentence on 25th July 2022.

35 political prisoners are continued to be held in the UAE despite completing their prison sentence.

On Monday, 25th July 2022, the four prisoners Abdul Rahim Al-Zarouni, Saeed Al-Wahidi, Detainee Ali Al-Manei, and Tariq Al Harmoudi have ended their prison sentences.

Earlier on Sunday, three detainees Abdul Salam Darwish, Dr. Saif Al-Ajla and Musabah Al-Rumaithi have completed their prison sentences on 24th July 2022.

Earlier last week, Dr Mohammed al-Roken has completed his 10-year-prison sentence. However, he remains held in flagrant violation to national and international laws.
