Protesters in Washington D.C. condemn UAE attacks in Yemen

Dozens of Yemenis staged sit-ins this week in New York, Washington D.C., Maryland and Virginia protesting against the UAE's latest attacks in Yemen.

Photos of human rights activists have circulated the internet as they appear protesting with banners reading “We demand a UN-intervention to stop UAE’s crimes”, condemning the United Nation’s silence regarding the latest escalations in Yemen.

The UAE has been heavily criticised in recent years for its role in the Saudi-led coalition's indiscriminate bombings of market places, funerals, weddings, school buses and hospitals in Yemen. With logistical support from the US, France and the UK, the coalition is responsible for the deaths of thousands of civilians, aggravating the world's worst humanitarian crisis.
