Two political prisoners deprived of attending their mother's funeral

The mother of the two Jordanian prisoners Yassir and Abdullah Abu Baker, held in UAE jails, passed away after being deprived of seeing her sons for seven years.

Manal Muhailan have long appealed both the UAE and Jordanian authorities to release her two sons or at least allow her to see them in prison.

Yassir and Abdullah Abu Baker were detained in 2015 along with four other Jordanians over a message about the Yemen war circulated in their WhatsApp group.

Their mother, Manal Muhailan, has lived alone since their arrest. She was diagnosed with cancer several years ago and has since been demanding her sons' release.

Recently, Manal's health has significantly deteriorated and fell into a coma, and died in a Jordanian hospital away from her two imprisoned sons.
