UAE authorities ban visits to 10 prisoners of conscience in al-Razin prison

The UAE authorites banned on Monday family and lawyer visits to ten prisoners of conscience arbitrarly held in al-Razin prison, the ICJHR revealed.

The hunger striker Nasser Bin Ghiath is reportedly among the ten prisoners.

Salah Dufiri, Hussein Najjar, and Khaled al-Sheiba were also among the mentioned prisoners, according to the sources.

Hundreds of political activists, human rights defenders, journalists, lawyers and bloggers are currently imprisoned in tbe UAE amidst allegations of torture.

Torture, ill-treatment and other cruel, inhuman and degrading punishment as well as the other gross violations that take place in the prisons of the UAE seem to take place in contrast to what is stated by Emirati authorities and what occurs in reality.
