UAE: The Education Council in a Cooperation with the UAE's Security Force

The Abu Dhabi Education Council called on a cooperation with the UAE's Security Force in Emirati schools, as director of the Council Ali Rashid al-Naimi said that police presence is important and that it should work and cooperate with them and listen to their feedbacks and take advantage of their expertise as to protect students who are easily influenced.

He also announced the creation of a committee composed of psychologists and police community members all over the UAE. This committee's goal is to address "students problems."

While some felt that what al-Naimi referred to was indeed an awareness process that has always existed in state schools, others warned that the motive behind this trend goes beyond the so-called objectives of the initiative.

What raises the fear of many, is that this came after earlier statements of the deputy head of Dubai Police, Dahi Khalfan, calling for the need for a security officer in each school from state schools, which a lot of educators considered contrary to any educational process and contrary to the desired freedoms.
